Empty, the feet drop into nine cups moulded into the deck of the pallet below, so a column of empties stands far shorter than the same number stacked flat.
The three runners are what make it work loaded. They give a continuous bearing surface along the length, so a hand pallet jack rolls under it rather than having to straddle a bare foot. Entry is four-way.
The published loading quantities are 550 per jumbo trailer and 500 per 40 ft high-cube container. Those are ordinary figures for a 48×40: the nine-leg RP-191 in this catalogue does 650 and 550 without nesting at all. So they read as counts for the pallet as shipped, not for nested empties, and the nesting saving is not in them.
If return freight on empties is what decides this purchase, ask us for the nested figure and we will confirm it rather than infer it.
This is a light-goods export and production pallet, not a racking pallet. The 661 lb racking figure says so plainly. What it is unusually good at is bulky but light loads: the deck area is full 48×40 while the pallet itself is under 20 lb, so it carries volume cheaply and is easy enough for one person on a production line to move by hand when empty.
All three ratings assume an evenly distributed load and fall with a concentrated or point load.
