The freight number, and the condition attached to it
We publish 1,470 per jumbo trailer and 1,260 per 40 ft high-cube, and both carry a condition: those counts are for the pallet with the runners not fitted. Decks travel nested, runners travel loose, and someone clips them on at the far end. We would rather say that first than let the number do the talking, because the figure is often quoted with the footnote dropped.
Stated plainly, it is a high count for a 48×40, though not the highest we publish:
- NP-192 and NP-193, nine legs, complete: 1,820 and 1,500
- NP-132, runners unfitted: 1,470 and 1,260
- NP-191, nine legs, nothing to fit: 1,300 and 1,100
- NP-131, the same range with its runners fixed: 550 and 500
If empties come back to you, that is the line to read. If they do not, a detachable runner earns you nothing over a fixed one, and the NP-131 or the NP-191 may be the better buy.
